“Onore Sho Fukuroo Dojo” is a dojo where you can enjoy learning calligraphy and painting.
Onoresho, or “self’s writing,” is a distinctive form of Japanese calligraphy that embodies the true spirit of personal expression. The term itself signifies “one’s own writing,” highlighting its nature as a truly unique, one-of-a-kind script. Unlike traditional calligraphy, which often follows strict rules on brush strokes and character structure, Onoresho celebrates the freedom of expression. Practitioners are encouraged to let their brush flow freely, creating art that is unbound by conventional stroke order or style. This makes Onoresho a blend of both art and writing, often described as “paintings that can be read” or “drawings that hold meaning.”
In our modern digital age, Onoresho offers a refreshing divergence from mainstream trends, providing a space to explore and create personal worldviews in an almost counter-cultural setting. It’s an art form that not only preserves the heritage of Japanese calligraphy but also transforms it into a medium of individual creativity and personal storytelling.
Accessible to All
One of the most appealing aspects of Onoresho is its accessibility. Even those unfamiliar with Japanese or traditional calligraphy can find themselves freely expressing through the brush in as little as 90 minutes. This welcoming approach opens up the art form to a broad audience, making it a perfect cultural experience for anyone looking to explore a new mode of artistic expression.
